Assigned to St. Anne's Hospital for twelve years, where, among other duties, she was also housemother, an assignment she found most rewarding, Sister Glorianne learned to play the guitar.It happened less than three years ago and was the result of lack of attendance at chapel exercise.
"If we want these young ladies to come inside the chapel," commented the chaplain, "you had better learn to play the guitar."
No more urging was required. She learned to strum chords on the guitar and began to play liturgical numbers.
Sure enough, St. Anne's girls followed the sound of music right into the chapel!
Sister Glorianne had been reassigned to a hospital in San Francisco for a year when it was discovered that she needed surgery. Once again she returned to Los Angeles, to await her date with the surgeon. Sister was called upon to record this album.
Because all of the proceeds from the sale of this album will go to the Harold and Fern McAlister Educational Center of St. Anne's Hospital where girls who seek help during their pregnancy continue to advance with their education, Sister Glorianne agreed (with permission) to make this recording.
Once again, her warmth and personality shines through and this recording becomes truly a collector's item.
St. Anne's Maternity Hospital and home for unwed mothers provides a total care program for any unwed pregnant girl or woman who wants to carry her baby full term.
Included is a residence or out-patient program, a junior and senior high school, a vocational education program, prenatal and post partum clinic and delivery in an accredited twenty-one bed hospital.
