Dedicated to the memory of Phil Clarke (1949-2003), Dave Plews (1958-2000) & Alan Sinclair (1948-2010).Phil Clarke was tour manager for the Orchestra's UK tour of The Cortège in 1982 under the auspices of the Contemporary Music Network.
This recording was made immediately after that tour: recorded and mixed at The Music Centre, Wembley, March/April 1982.
The LP version [Mike Westbrook Orchestra - The Cortege] was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque de Jazz at the 1983 Montreux Festival.
In fold-out, 6-panel digipack with 28-page booklet.
