"a cassette release featuring two distinct sides. side a. features duets by musician Ras Moshe (nyc) on tenor sax, flutes and bells, along side Stefan Christoff on piano. recorded in spring 2015 at Alwan for the Arts in lower Manhattan. this musical exchange actually began in person after a face-to-face interview with Ras looking at radical perspectives on jazz history that Stefan recorded for Montréal’s CKUT fm in Tompkins Square Park in the lower east-side of New York City during the height of recent #blacklivesmatter protests in NYC.""side b. is a series of sonic meditations, dream-like soundscapes build on micro-sampling the Alwan session in New York, creating a sonic landscape that brings those city street inspired recordings into the sky. these remixes were imagined by Nick Schofield who delves into bliss loops and classical-computer music, all produced at studio 2X5."
