Notes
Enroute VFR - Flight Information (excerpts from back cover):"Retracing one of history's best known air routes...the old "Lindergh Mail Run" between Chicago and St. Louis."
"This album was recorded in flight on an actual VFR cross-country from Lambert field at St. Louis to Meigs field in Chiciago and return. The finest Ampex Stereophonic recording equipment was used in order to produce the cockpit sounds just as they normally occur, to give you an authentic, precision aviation tool. No false sounds or studio "gimmicks" were used in the production of "Enroute VFR".
Different routes were flown on the round-trip to give you additional examples of radio procedures and navigation. A practice ILS approach was made on the return to St. Louis as a bonus for the VFR pilot who may be considering work on an instrument ticket."
"A 1959 Comanche "250" was used for the flight.
It's radio equipment included:
Narco Mark II Omnigator
Narco VHT-3 Superhomer
Lear ADF-12 E
All recorded material was checked with an Official of the FAA; Control Tower Chief; U.S. Weather Bureau and the Flight Instructor to assure you of authentic information and procedure. Maps used on this Album cover are authorized reproductions of world Aeronautical Charts Nos. 308 and 359, produced by the U.S. Coast Guard and Geodetic Survey. The map may be used to follow the flight route of this album but is not used for navigation."
