All Prestodiscs were 1-sided cardboard picture records and were often inserted into packets of Grieg's Whole Wheat Flakes breakfast cereal, although they were also sold through J.G. Coles department stores in their record bars for 1 shilling and six-pence (compared to 10 shillings for a standard 45rpm 7" single).

Sound quality of these discs was typically poor, although pristine copies do play quite well on modern equipment.
