Trichy Sankaran is a dazzling performer on the double-headed South Indian drum called mrdangam. The pieces on this recording highlight this versatile instrument and also incorporate vina (played by Karaikkuddi Subramaniam), kanjira (frame drum), tamboura and finger cymbals.
